I relapsed :/ Blog name change

Keep moving forward, plans for the New Year, changing the name of this project

Introduction

Well, it was a journey while it lasted. I found some alcohol in my pantry, and wanted to celebrate an enjoyable year. The rest is history.

Thankfully, I didn’t go on a wild bender and I have no intention of drinking to the level that I did in the past. However, I think I’ll be a bit less strict about my drinking habit going forward, and hopefully find a healthy medium-ground where it’s possible to enjoy oneself during celebrations without going overboard.

It’s the last month of the year, so I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting about the New Year, my squad’s legacy, and my vision for this project. As far as I can tell, going forward this project will be less about addiction recovery and more about three main ideas:

  1. Health. Especially mental health, but also other areas of health as well.

  2. Spirituality/religion. I like blending different cultures to see the whole human story, but that may change as time goes on.

  3. Heaven on earth. This has been a main theme of this project that I don’t always touch on, but I really believe that we have the opportunity to bring a new “Golden age” and so plan on talking more directly about this.

We’ll dive into each of these for a bit, but I want to reveal the new title for this project:

Tentatively, it will be known as Tranquil Talk. If that ends up being taken by the time I change it, I plan to have something with the world tranquil in it. So, be sure to whitelist that email if it ends up changing in your inbox. As always, thanks for being a part of this journey, and may the Force be with you.

Health

There are many aspects to health, and when we’re younger many of us don’t really appreciate the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. At least, that was my experience. When I was young, my acquaintances and I were more interested in partying than maintaining our health. Now that we’re older, my friends, family, and I have shifted our focus more towards our health. It’s a work in progress.

Thankfully, I’ve found a health network that works well for my mental, physical, and emotional health. So, going forward I want to talk more about mental health in particular because that’s where I had to learn the most on how to change myself. Admittedly, most of my exercise is walking and mindfulness movement like yoga and qi gong, so I still have more to learn about physical fitness. However, I’m at more peace and joy now so want to share mental health tips. For example, even though I relapsed and went on a moderate holiday reversal, I didn’t allow myself to wallow in self-pity (for too long, haha) or to transition into a full-fledged binge cycle.

I was chatting with a new acquaintance I made, and they reminded me:

Health is wealth. Health is the greatest luxury [we can have here].

Of course, many of us have heard something like this said before. But if you’re anything like me, you didn’t really take all those words of wisdom as serious when you were younger and instead figured you’d find your own path. Now that I’m in my middle years, many of these sayings definitely ring true. So, in the next stage of this blog I hope to get some more experience around healthy living to share with you all. But for the rest of the year, I have a few “yearly wrap up” posts scheduled, Lord willing.

Spirituality/Religion

Spirituality and religion were a cornerstone of this blog from the jump. Mainly, that involved quoting applicable Bible verses related to the particular topic we’d been discussing. This will likely stay essentially the same as the blog progresses, but I may incorporate other spiritual traditions more too. I’m more of a Universalist, and believe that all paths ultimately lead to Heaven/Janna/Moksha/Nirvana/Apotheosis/Gnosis. If the best among us are loving, caring, and kind, and the Higher Power/God/Source/Ultimate Reality is that much more beyond our own capacities, it only makes sense that they’d be loving and forgiving enough to get us all back to the “True Realm”. Other traditions besides Orthodox Universalist Christianity that particularly resonate with me are Hinduism and Mahayana Buddhism. I don’t really want to get into the specifics of what separates these traditions from other branches of their respective religions here, as that’s not really the focus of this post, but perhaps in a future I will link to a post where I go into my interpretations of these belief systems.

For now, may the Force continue to be with you all, and if you ever need a helping hand or someone to listen to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Bringing Heaven to Earth

This topic is near and dear to my heart and makes my heart sing. In fact, “Heaven on Earth” is the inspiration for this project’s Logo/Favicon.

Many traditions, and they say even the Akashaik record, has a connection to the 144,000. I believe I’m part of that group. And we’re brought here to bring Shambalah/Heaven to earth. I’m not privy to whether we can do that on our own accord, or whether we need the help of our network here on earth. I just hope you know that’s what I’m here to do and I hope you won’t mock me for that.

As always, may the Force be with you.

Conclusion

We’ve covered where I see this blog going in the next year, and I hope it’s inspired you. Sorry for missing last weeks post. I’ve been enjoying my holidays. Hope you have been too. Until next time, take care <3.
