National Recovery Month 2024
Join us as we reflect on national recovery month 2024
Cutting to the chase:
September is National Recovery Month here in the States, which I didn’t even know until this year. Last September changed my life for the better in so many ways. I quit my job last September, and started looking for detoxes that would accept my insurance. Now, a year later, I’ve been free from alcohol and marijuana since October 2023, have a new job lined up which I’m currently going through orientation for, and have several new projects in the works. Relationships with loved ones are healthier than ever, with most of the things I did during my drinking days as water on the bridge.
So, this National Recovery month I want to encourage those still in addiction to consider changes they can make to their life to get them off of their drug(s) of choice. If you’re free from your addiction(s), I invite you to use this time to be grateful for your freedom and to consider how you can help others to achieve their recovery goals.
To coincide with National Recovery month, US drug overdoses experienced major declines according to data received this month. If this blog goes out of commission or has to pivot into focusing more on other topics besides addiction recovery, that would be a wonderful turn of events. For now, the fight continues. Thank you for being part of the recovery community journey.
Look forward to a full-length post again next week, for now, these are just thoughts I wanted to share about the state of the community. All the best.
