Who is Faith Works for?
With a population of almost 8 billion, there are numerous perspectives on a Higher Power. While there are those who white-knuckle their addictions and mental health problems, many have found solace in believing in a power greater than themselves is able and willing to help them along their journey.
It doesn’t have to be the same for everyone, either. Faith Works will resonate with those who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues who are at least open to the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ/Yeshua Hamashiach as it relates to your salvation from addiction and mental health problems now, as well as your experience in the hereafter forevermore.
That doesn’t mean we won’t explore other religions and spiritual traditions, and here at Faith Works we respect everyone because the author (birth name Sean, preferred name Sebastian) believes in Universal Salvation, and chooses to honor the Christian tradition because that is the culture that the Most High placed the author into in His infinite wisdom.
We also will be particularly mindful of the Buddhist tradition here, as Yeshua has guided the author to revere the Buddhist tradition as a means to achieving salvation from suffering along this journey. In fact, “Yeshua”,“Nirvana”, and “Namgyalma” (a Buddhist long life diety) all have the same numerical value in gematria (according to gematrix.com).
While the author is not currently free from all substance addictions (almost!), “hard” drugs as well as alcohol and marijuana are all being successfully abstained from by the author (by the grace of God).
If you are currently anywhere along your recovery and/or spiritual journey, it is Genji’s hope that you have just found a place to call your digital home.
It should be noted that Faith Works is not meant to replace other recovery communities, but rather to supplement them. Whether you resonate with the 12-step tradition, Recovery Dharma/Refuge Recovery, or Smart recovery, it is the author’s hope that this will be a welcome addition to your routine and that it inspires you to continue to heal yourself as well as serve others.
The name of this project is inspired from James 2:14-26 that Faith without works is dead. This is also a sentiment shared within the 12 step community (at least the portion the author is familiar with).
