Awesome coffee substitute
For those struggling with overconsuming caffeine
Introduction
As mentioned in my last post, I recently got a new job (yay!) So, I needed some supplies for the position and was shopping on Amazon. Since I don’t have Prime, it mentioned that I could add additional items to qualify for free shipping (that’s how they get ya). One of those extra items is what I wanted to talk about today.
With preparation for everything as well as the Holidays, may posts may be a bit more ad-hoc like this until I get into a new rhythm. If you like posts like this, feel free to comment. If you prefer how the posts were before, I’d love to hear about it too. As always, may the Force be with you!
The Skinny
Energy drinks, coffee, 5 hour energy, espresso, sodas… the options are varied for caffeine enthusiasts. Unfortunately, it’s to the point where I have way over the recommended daily intake of caffeine, and it started to affect my health in a negative way. Additionally, I associate caffeine with nicotine so it’s been making breaking free of nicotine more of a hurdle than it has to be.
My preferred caffeinated beverage is a traditional cup of coffee. I’d have about 7-10 8 oz cups a day. I’ve tried switching to decaf and green tea, but the decaf doesn’t taste as good as regular coffee. This is where Pero comes in.
Pero is a caffeine-free coffee alternative that, in my opinion, has a similar flavor profile to caffeinated coffee but actually tastes even better. It’s available on Amazon, so if you’re looking to beat your coffee fix while still enjoying that flavor profile, give Pero a try!
It’s bitter like coffee, so if your Ayurvedic Dosha profile isn’t one that supports bitterness, it may not be the best for you. But then again neither would coffee in general. It’s also got ingredients that I think are mostly gluten-based, so if you have a gluten sensitivity or allergy this is definitely not the beverage for you.
As long as those considerations don’t apply to you, Pero is an excellent alternative to giving you that warm fuzzy feeling that a coffee gives you. It’s relaxing and still lifts your mood. I’m quite happy with my purchase, and plan not to have to buy anymore coffee once the rest of my grounds are gone.
Conclusion
Not much more to say about this one. Things have been hectic with the holidays, and I’ve been trying to rest before my new position kicks in. However, I want to keep working on this project as I really believe in the mission and enjoy getting down to share my thoughts with others about things that many of us are struggling with.
I plan to really build this bad boy out, so thank you all those who have been with this project since the beginning. I’m truly grateful.
May the Lord be with you. Take care
